LANGKAWI, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) will build a new pontoon jetty in Pulau Tuba, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Datuk Johari Baharum said."The jetty costing RM3 million will benefit more than 3,000 people on the island. It is expected to be ready by July," he told reporters after chairing the Kedah Federal Action Committee meeting here Sunday.
The Pulau Tuba jetty was one of many facilities that the people asked from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during his visit here last month.Johari also directed government departments and agencies to monitor Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) projects in Langkawi so that they could be completed on schedule. The projects include Ayer Hangat police station, an education centre, Mahsuri Mausoleum Complex, expansion of Jalan Sungai Kuah and Sungai Kuah Bridge.--BERNAMA
