Berjaya Air to fly to Langkawi

BERJAYA Air Sdn Bhd (Berjaya Air) customers can look forward to more holiday options with the airline beginning flights to Pangkor and Langkawi next month.
In her speech at the company’s first poolside get-together last Friday, Berjaya Air general manager Adelie Lee said this was the airline’s first domestic expansion and is only the beginning as there are plans to fly to destinations in Southeast Asia next year.
“We are trying to make holidays affordable and available for the entire family in line with our new tagline unveiled last month, ‘Your getaway starts with us!’ or ‘Your getaway airline’.

More here..

AL :-
Why not open a flight directly from Pangkor to Langkawi. This will cater tourist from lumut & coastal area of Perak. Rather then need to drive all the way to KL just to get on a plane to Langkawi.

Anyway, hope Berjaya Air gives a better rate than Airasia & Firefly..

Sunrise at Berjaya Resort, Langkawi, Malaysia.
Sun is rising from the hill behing Adaman sea and first rays of the day are waking up monkeys living in the rainforest behind bungalows where we stayed. Soon after shooting this picture first monkeys came to the shore to search for breakfast. Amazing location!

The charms of Berjaya Resort Langkawi by Azy

This was my first trip to Langkawi Island. We didn't really go on trips like these when I was younger. Weekends were spent running wild at a fruit orchard, fishing, climbing trees and swimming in a beautiful unspoiled river in Janda Baik, Pahang. I never felt like I was missing out and there was definitely no peer pressure in not visiting the usual holiday destinations.

This means that I am easily entranced and fascinated, just like a child would. One naturally associates the island with beaches but I never knew about its beautiful mountain range and every meal we had was - quite surprisingly - delicious (more on these in another post).

Al :
I've never come across Berjaya beach review before apart from tripadvisor.. Great review & nice info regarding the resort..

Jellyfish alert in Berjaya Beach Resort

BERJAYA Langkawi Resort has erected signages along its beachfront to warn and advise swimmers about the presence of jellyfish in the waters.
The resort’s general manager Graeme L. Dwyer who hails from Australia is putting to good use his experience in tackling the jellyfish danger.
He said the public had to be warned of the dangers of jellyfish and the signages provided information on the do’s and dont’s when one is stung.
Dwyer also said first aid in the form of applying or pouring vinegar on the area where one has been stung would be provided at three first aid stations set up along the 180m stretch of the beach.
He was speaking at a press briefing at the resort recently.
“The whole swimming area will be skimmed to remove any jellyfish and at a later stage, a protective beach net will be spread to safeguard the whole area.
“The jellyfish situation in Langkawi is manageable as far as the deadly box jellyfish species is concerned,” he said.
“The presence of jellyfish increases from December to March and we have to be prepared,’’ he said.

The Star

Anaklangkawi :-
Such a responsible effort taken by Berjaya which we applause. I'm not sure how serious it is but perhaps more research need to be done to determine the species of jellyfish in the waters. Create a precaution to control their numbers & as well as the plan if the tourist get sting by more dangerous species. Better now than never.
