Part 48 – Four Seasons Resort Langkawi: A Luxurious Paradise and a Vacation Destination of a Lifetime!
‘Wow, I would love to stay here!’ I can vividly remember
saying this phrase when I had the chance to inspect one of the 16 beach
villas (plus 4 Family Beach Villas) in the majestic hideaway of
Langkawi. It was May of last year when I did a site visit at Four
Seasons Resort in Langkawi. The place fits exactly like a beautiful
post card picture come to life.
In this article I am very pleased to feature Fours Seasons Resort Langkawi, proud full sponsor of my recent indulgent escape. For more information about the resort, visit http://www.fourseasons.com/langkawi
On Sunday, I arrived in Langkawi from Penang via a comfortable 4-hour ferry ride. The Four Seasons Resort Langkawi pride themselves on personal care and unrivalled service, which instantly shined from the moment I was picked up via the resort’s private car. Travel time from Penang Ferry Terminal to the resort is approximately 25 minutes.
The first thing that caught my attention upon arrival at the resort was the Greeting Pavillion which is set in a tropical lush landscape and in the midst of a reflective pond, creating a serene ambience. I was welcomed and escorted by the Sales Staff, who offered me refreshment while I was checking in. A few moments later, I was met and greeted by Philippe Larrieu, the Resort Manager.
Within 10 minutes, an electric cart picked me up and brought me to the comfort of my upgraded beach villa. I was really amazed on the room assigned to me. “Wow” was the first word uttered. It was an instant rebirth of a memory of absolute luxury facing the splendid beachside and overlooking the azure sea. The 220m2 size beach villa proudly offers a massive living area in its luxuriously presented tropical decor. I also noticed the ‘welcome bowl of fresh fruits’ on the living centre table. Each room of the villa offers an alluring view of the beachfront or the lush surrounds.

Cleanliness, Environmental Protection Crucial For Malaysia's Tourism Industry
LANGKAWI, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- Cleanliness and protecting the environment are crucial for Malaysia in order to become a major tourist destination in the world, said Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.
She said many tourists had described Malaysia as a good tourist destination but were not very happy about cleanliness at tourist spots especially toilets.
"Malaysia is nice but "the nose will guide me to the toilets" they say. Therefore, I urge all Malaysians to write directly to the relevant parties especially the operators if they find tourist spots or toilets to be not in good condition in terms of cleanliness," she said at the Langkawi Tourism Industry Awards 2010/2011 ceremony here Friday night.
She said the ministry introduced the "1Malaysia Green, 1Malaysia Clean" initiative to educate and increase tour operators' and public awareness on the importance of upkeeping cleanliness and pristine state of tourist spots.
Ng said the ministry was working hard to develop a thriving and sustainable tourism industry that did not compromise on the existing biodiversity through e "preservation, conservation and protection" of the environment and the country's nature and cultural heritage.
"Irresponsible behaviour can affect the environment and outcome is flash floods. This is not good for the tourism industry," she said.
Ng said cleanliness and protecting the environment would be the main focus of the ministry to attract more tourists to Malaysia.
"We have been selected as one of the world's top ten countries for 2010 in term of tourist destinations. Out of 10, only two Asian countries. First is China, at fourth place. However, China is huge country with 1.3 billion people. Second is tiny Malaysia at eighth place. We only have 28 million people," she said.
She said under Malaysia's Tourism Transformation Plan, Malaysia aimed tp achieve 36 million tourist arrival and RM168 billion in tourism receipts by 2020.
At the function, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa received the Outstanding Hotel/Resort Award.
Mardi Agro Park, Langkawi received the Outstanding Innovative Product/Programme award while Four Seasons Resort Langkawi for Outstanding Green Effort award.
The Outstanding Restaurant award went to Restaurant Putumayo while AB Motel was given the Outstanding Budget Accomodation award, HBS Evergreen Tour Sdn Bhd (Outstanding Boat Operator), Osman Ayob (Outstanding Tourist Guide), Sala Travel & Tours Langkawi (Outstanding Tour & Travel Agent), Panorama Langkawi Sdn Bhd (Outstanding Tourism Product) and Jetty Point Duty Free Complex (Outstanding Retail Outlet).
Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) Tourism Manager Megat Shahrul Azman Abas was chosen as Tourism Personality.
The Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama was among the recipients of a special award during the tourism awards held at Lada Auditorium.

Cocktails at Four Seasons Langkawi by Musemono
I know it sounds weird, but one of Langkawi's fabulous (I can't think of other word!) attractions is the Four Seasons Resort, set on Langkawi's best beach, Tanjung Rhu. I didn't get to stay there (flat broke), but my spirit wasn't broke to explore the side of this out-of-this-world beauty. Call me wannabe, but I soooo wannabe there again, even as I'm writing this! Ok whatever.Anaklangkawi :-
What i can say is musemono blog are really interesting. It quite detail & great pictures on the places he visits. There's also an article about Kampung Tok Senik Resort. Do look up his blog if you plan to stay at these two places.

Baron Group To Build Motel In Langkawi
By Zulkafli Ibrahim
LANGKAWI, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- The Baron Group, the operator of a network of hotels and chalets in Langkawi, is to build the 80-room "de Baron Motel" to meet the demand of the growing tourism industry on the island.
Managing director, Zailina Mohd Zain said, the construction is part of a planned 300-room development, to be undertaken in stages.
"Piling works on the four-storey motel has already begun on a reclaimed site near Sungai Kuah and is expected to fully complete within a year," she told Bernama here Monday.
Zailina said the company will invest invest RM20 million to develop the entire 300 rooms in Langkawi.
Some of the rooms will be in Kuah and the rest in Pantai Cenang, she added.
The Baron Group has five hotels and chalets of three-start rating, with almost 500 rooms in Kuah and Pantai Cenang, including the de Baron Resort with 137 rooms and Hotel Baron with more than 40 rooms.

Jalin kemesraan di Rebak Island ~ Hotel Langkawi
Berita Harian

Rahsia Estate To Launch Project In Langkawi Next Year
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama) -- Rahsia Estate Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Riverbank Suites Sdn Bhd, plans to launch its first niche mixed residential and commercial development project in Pulau Langkawi in March next year. The "Rahsia Estate's Island Residences and Spa Langkawi" will be located situated on 15 acres of undulating land.Rahsia Estate's group chief executive officer Hanizah Tun Abdul Hamid said the project's present development was valued at RM250 million.
"This high-end project will consist of luxury corporate retreat bungalows and semi-duplex precincts," she said.Haniza said the company was targeting both domestic and international markets but for now, tourists are expected to be more keen on such projects in line with the government's second home campaign. She was speaking to reporters after a signing ceremony between Rahsia Estate and Amanah Raya Bhd on sponsorship for two Islamic studies students to pursue their education at the well-known Al-Azhar University in Egypt.
Also present were Amanah Raya chairman Datuk Dusuki Ahmad and Rahsia Estate chairman Toh Puan Azian Ghazali.Hanizah said the Langkawi project, comprising two phases initially, could replace similar offerings in Phuket, Thailand, due to better infrastructure, and economic and political stability."The company also looking at a new site for phase three which will be in Langkawi too with an area of 20 to 25 acres," she said.
Asked about sales during the economic slowdown, Haniza said the company's business has not been affected as it was not depending on a single market. The company expects the economy to recover and regain its strength by the first half of next year, she said."When banks start to offer more loans, we believe the recovery process can be faster as currently many banks are very conservative in this matter," she added. The Langkawi project is scheduled to be completed in 36 months following the launch in March 2010.-- BERNAMA

Asked about sales during the economic slowdown, Haniza said the company's business has not been affected as it was not depending on a single market. Percutian kapal layar
Peluang bercuti di atas kapal mengelilingi pulau legenda itu ketika membuat liputan majlis perkahwinan pemenang pertandingan ‘Love Me Do’, bulan lalu memang menyeronokkan.
Ketika menaiki kapal layar Crystal, di atas dek, pemiliknya, warga Kanada, Allan Scott bersama isteri, Ryoko menyambut penulis dan wakil media dengan senyuman mesra.
Hiasan ringkas dengan dominasi warna putih tanpa susun atur perabot yang berselerak menerbitkan mood santai.Ruang deknya sesuai dijadikan lokasi berkelah dan berjemur. Kapal belayar meredah ombak Laut Andaman sebelum berlabuh seketika berhampiran gugusan pulau kecil dekat Pulau Dayang Bunting.
