 This is my 1st time to Langkawi (Mar 18-20), our company trip. I must say i'm quite enjoy the trip and maybe go back again if time allow. Pantai Cenang area is quite happening and remind me the relax feel in Bali, of course still need to improve in a lot of expect but i can see the bright future in this place (if developing in right way). We very enjoy the meals in Orkid Ria Restaurant and strongly recommend to others to having meal in that restaurant.

Eagle Square Kuah

A bit disappointing for place like Kuah Town, nothing there except Duty Free shop, Eagle Square is nice but you won't hang out there for half day. Lucky we met a guy there told us there is a "island hooping tour" is suitable for us, and that is the BEST activities we have there!

Overall, i think Langkawi is a nice place for tourist (like Bali) but must work harder in a lot of aspect to attract more tourist such as facilities, hotels, shopping street , activities on land or water etc.

Your blog is very informative about Langkawi, good job, keep it up!

I had a pleasant time in Langkawi. I stayed in Sheraton Langkawi and I was very pleased with the service and the resort itself. I enjoyed the serenity of the sea from my room balcony and the greenery surrounding the place. Sunset was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was amazing! The trip was very rejuvenating, took my mind away from the hectic work life in the city.

The other things I enjoyed the most was the drive along the smooth clear highways and the exploration in the inner part of the suburbs. The walk along the nightspots and the massive shopping in the duty free stores on the island. Liquor, cigars and chocolate were so cheap, it seems like paradise.

A thumbs up to Sheraton for living up to the tourist expectation.

Picture of the day by Popsytwisty. The legend said that Langkawi was a place for a big bird called Garuda. Legend also said there's Garuda has attacked the convoy from Raja Merong Mahawangsa from its way to China. Raja Merong Mahawangsa using his magic fire a bow of arrow to Garuda which turn in Jentayu (a Legend bird) which fights with Garuda in the waters of Langkawi.

A the end the convoy was safe but the Jentayu bird die in the fight & Garuda left the scene from exhaustion.

The trip wasn't really recent, it was about 2 years ago. But it was a good trip nonetheless. I enjoyed my stay at Helang Hotel and the food in Langkawi was fantastic especially the pisang goreng stall along the road!

Picture of the Day. I never thought that at Eagle Point Kuah we can get such a nice picture. But this picture shows that you can. Its just a matter of 5-10minutes sunset you'll get such a great picture. With combination of Bunting Island, boats & sunset. Such a great combination..

Dataran Lang Yang Suram

Tah dimana silapnya tapi itulah hakikatnya bila melewati kawasan yg sening dikunjungi pelancong di Dataran Lang. Lantai-lantai & kawasan sekeliling yg compang camping mencacatkan prestasi pulau Lagenda yg gah dimata dunia. Nak kata tiada peruntukan rasanya tidak sebab ‘tourist spot’ yg menjadi kunjungan ini merupakan kawasan seliaan LADA.

Takkan LADA tak peka @ buat2 tak Nampak kawasan tersebut. Atau LADA lebih sibuk melaksanakan projek yg lebih menguntungkan para kontraktor dr benda-benda remeh seperti ini. Peruntukan yg diberikan tidak habis digunakan malahan digunakan di kawasan-kawasan yg kurang menjadi tumpuan pelancong.

Masakan RM 1.4 juta (figure dr soalan MP) boleh digunakan utk memasang papan tanda & panel penerangan di seluruh langkawi tapi kontrak yg kurang dr RM 50,000 tidak boleh di tawarkan demi menambah baik kawasan tumpuan pelancong.

p/s: Malu bila rakan yg berkunjung ke Langkawi ckp dataran Lang agaknya pecah-pecah sbb mlmnya replika burung lang berjalan2 di sekitar dataran.
